Is there room for the small business owner in the new city?

Between them, Pedro Carazo, Debbie Lawson and Deric Blacker, lost three businesses, two homes, a child, and a close friend, on February 22, 2011.

All three owned businesses in Christchurch's central city and despite their personal losses and professional struggles, all three decided to re-establish their retail offerings, but on the outskirts of the city - Woolston, Merivale and Sydenham.

Suburbia is where they've remained - and flourished.

As the new city centre begins to take shape, Christchurch Dilemmas takes Pedro, Debbie and Deric back to Worcester, Cashel, and Tuam Streets, back to where their premises once stood - to a place they no longer like to linger - and asks each of them if they'll ever return.
