05:45 am on 8 April 2010

The Samoa government has decided to continue to distribute relief aid for all victims of last year tsunami that killed more than 140 people.

The distribution of goods donated through the Government was put on hold last year, and 41 containers of goods were locked up at the Fire Services compound at Tuanaimato sports complex.

The good included items such as foodstuff, clothes, drinks, kitchen wares, medical supplies, hardware goods, tarpaulin and tools, and building supplies.

The government says the decision was made to distribute foodstuff before their expiry dates, and to avoid the rising costs of container fees.
