Gunmen have killed at least seven people in an attack on a NATO convoy near the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
At 10km outside the city, the assault is the closest insurgents have struck to the capital.
The attack took place at a depot on the outskirts of Islamabad, on the road to the north-western city of Peshawar and towards the main Nato supply route into Afghanistan.
Police say that up to 12 attackers targeted the trucks, which were carrying supplies to alliance troops in Aghanistan. A search is on for the raiders, who escaped in two cars and on motorbikes.
Those killed are thought to be the drivers and local people. Police say at least four other people were wounded.
Kaleem Imam from the Islamabad police says security around the convoy was not adequate.
On the same day, dozens of militants attacked a security convoy in the Orakzai tribal region near Afghanistan where Pakistan had declared the Taliban defeated.
Six soldiers and 40 militants are reported to have been killed.
