One person has been flown to hospital and is in a critical condition following a crash involving a bus and a car in north Canterbury this afternoon.

Emergency services, including two helicopters, were called to State Highway 1 near Clarence, in the Kaikōura District about 1pm.
Police said there were three people in the car at the time of the crash.
St John said as well as the person flown to Christchurch Hospital, two others suffered minor injuries.
An ambulance took one to a hospital in Kaikōura.
Police say there were no passengers in the bus.
