How solar panels in schools could build the country's largest virtual power plant

Installing solar panels on all of New Zealand's schools could generate 200 megawatts, with schools saving up to $30 million a year.

The idea is part of a pitch called Empower Aotearoa, which recently won the GHD Smart Seeds innovation challenge in Auckland.

Alicia Williams was part of the team behind the pitch and she explains the idea.
