A new partnership between AgResearch and a big Māori land manager is promising to open doors into scientific research for tāngata whenua.

Te Tumu Paeroa, the Māori Trustee, and AgResearch have signed a memorandum of understanding today in Wellington which will impact the future of Māori agribusiness.

The head of Te Tumu Paeroa Jamie Tuuta said by tapping into AgResearch's expertise and network in agri-science, technology and research, it could assist them in making more informed project decisions.

The first project proposal has already been submitted which will allow AgResearch to evaluate the potential of Te Tumu Paeroa's land and discuss their vision.
