Fairydown factory in Christchurch to close

Fairydown is to close a factory in Christchurch and move production from there to China in a bid to cut costs.

Pacific Brands says 25 jobs will be lost at the plant at Hornby.

Manufacturing will cease in November, with all products to made in Australia and China.

Pacific Brands says there are no plans to close the company's Yakka clothing factory on the North Shore in Auckland.
