A bore in Havelock North will reopen tomorrow, more than six months after the town's water contamination crisis.
Hastings District Council said tonight they had approval from the government's panel investigating August's campylobacter contamination to use water from Brookvale Bore three.
The bore was closed in October 2015 after an E Coli contamination.
Bores one and two were then shut down last August after more than 5000 people were infected with campylobacter.
Opening bore three will allow the council to ease water restrictions.
The district council said it had put in a comprehensive treatment facility to ensure the safety of the water.
