Police are on the hunt for an Auckland man charged with murder in relation to the killing of Charles Pongi last year.
Vini Steven Mahoni, 20, from South Auckland's Papakura, has warrants out for his arrest, including a recently filed murder charge.
The murder charge relates to the killing of Pongu in Point England on 5 August, 2023.
Four other men are already before the court on murder charges related to the death.
"Police have been undertaking several enquiries to locate Mahoni and at this point we believe he is evading authorities," Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Armstrong said in a statement.
"We would like to hear from anyone who has information on his whereabouts," he said.
Mahoni also has warrants for his arrest for failing to appear in court on charges of possessing an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.
Armstrong said anyone with information on Mahoni's whereabouts should contact police.
Mahoni should not be approached and if anyone saw him they should call 111, he said.
