Premier League set to introduce goal-line technology next season

17:26 pm on 10 April 2013

The Football Association expects goal-line technology to be formally approved in time for next season's English Premier League competition at a meeting of clubs this week.

Last week, world governing body FIFA appointed a German firm, GoalControl, to provide the technology at the Confederations Cup in Brazil in June.

If successful, it will then be used at next year's World Cup.

FA general secretary Alex Horne says he expects the Premier League clubs to ratify use of the technology when they meet.
