New Zealanders used record amounts of mobile data as they celebrated the start of the New Year.
Nearly thirty percent more data was used across Vodafone's mobile networks this New Years Eve than last year.
From 8pm on Monday night to 2am on Tuesday morning, New Zealanders used more than 90 terabytes of mobile data.
That is the equivalent of streaming 40 hours of television in just six hours.
Vodafone said 5.5 million text messages were sent on their network this New Years Eve, which is less than last year.
