Fiji's opposition leader Ro Teimumu Kepa has questioned the 217 percent increase in salary for the Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama and the 197 percent increase for the Attorney General and Finance Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Ro Teimumu referred to the President's speech which talked about plans to increase the minimum wage from two Fiji dollars by 16 percent in July.
She says workers in Fiji have to wait for nine months to get the increase.

Ro Teimumu says the government has not hesitated in increasing its own pay.
The disclosure of the top politicians' salaries is new.
Until recently, the two leading politicians insisted on their salaries be kept secret amid reports that they were paid through an accounting company owned by the Attorney General's aunt.
