Tottenham Hotspur have retained their place in the English Premier football League top four with a 2-0 home win over Fulham.
Tottenham never looked troubled by Fulham, with striker Peter Crouch putting Spurs into the lead mid-way through the first half, and David Bentley making sure of the win with a second-half free-kick.
The win leaves Spurs three points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool, who managed onoly a goalless draw while visiting the struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Despite the return of club captain Steven Gerrard from injury, Liverpool were unable to rise to the occasion and a return to the Champions League next season is looking even more uncertain.
At the other end of the table, Bolton beat Burnley 1-0 at home to secure their first league win under new manager Owen Coyle, and moved them out of the relegation zone at the expense of the visiting side.
Meanwhile, West Ham had to settle for a 1-1 draw at bottom-placed Portsmouth. The visitors took the lead seven minutes into the second half, but Portsmouth scored the equaliser in the 76th minute.
