Public transport users in Canterbury are being urged to be patient and plan their trips carefully due to the city's rapidly changing roads.
The Canterbury Regional Council, which oversees the bus service, says road detours and extensive repairs following recent damaging earthquakes are proving challenging for bus drivers on many routes around Christchurch.
Passenger services manager David Stenhouse says bus drivers often do not know about changes until the last minute and must adapt quickly.
Mr Stenhouse says passengers can find out the location of road repairs which may affect their route on the Transport for Christchurch website, the Metro Info website, Facebook or can receive bus detours by texting "follow metrochch" to 8987.
