The Indonesian government is to open its embassy in Suva in just over a week.
A spokesman for Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Ministry says the establishment of the embassy is an indication of Indonesia's commitment to maintaining and intensifying its cooperation with countries in the region.
He said the opening will also strengthen Indonesia's position as one of the dialog partners at the Pacific Islands Forum.
