Auckland Council says it is rectifying minor teething issues with the Wynyard Crossing Bridge.

The pedestrian drawbridge has malfunctioned twice since re-opening on Friday after being closed for most of this year for major repairs.

Eke Panuku, the council's development agency, confirmed the bridge was temporarily shut Tuesday evening to investigate a sensor issue but is now running again.

The bridge also closed for about 15 minutes on Monday due to a technical error, a spokesperson said.

It will operate from 7:30am to 11:30pm instead of 24 hours until its teething problems have been ironed out.

In the meantime, the red boat ferry service continues to run between the Maritime Museum and the Viaduct Events Centre from 7am daily.
