A three-year-old boy has been taken to Starship Hospital in a serious condition after being hit by a car in the Auckland suburb of Te Atatu.
Police said the incident happened in Jaemont Avenue about 1.30pm.
They said the driver of the car was not injured and was helping them with their inquiries.
The child was earlier reported to be four years old.
Jaemont Avenue is closed.
