Former Scotland international and Highlanders back John Leslie has been named as Northland's new NPC head coach.
The New Zealanders Leslie's most recent role as coach of Southern RFC in Dunedin where he guided them to the 2022 Dunedin Premier Club Championship.
He also coached the Otago Under 19's to an undefeated season, clinching the South Island Championship.
Before coaching Leslie captained teams such as Otago University RFC, Otago, the Highlanders, and the New Zealand Universities side.
He played over 100 games played for both Otago University RFC and Otago and won four Dunedin Premier club championships and two NZR National Championships.
He made his debut for Scotland in 1998 against South Africa and scored his first international try just twelve seconds after kick-off.
Leslie played 23 tests for Scotland over four years.
