Police say they have now identified the woman whose body was found at Kau Bay near Miramar in Wellington yesterday.

A member of the public noticed the body at about 12.45pm and alerted police.
Her body was recovered by police but her identity was unknown and police had asked for public assistance to help identify her.
Police say the woman has now been identified but her death is still being treated as unexplained. Police have not named the woman.
A post mortem is expected to be undertaken today.
