Petrol prices drop for seventh time this year

12:55 pm on 12 January 2015

Petrol prices have dropped again this morning, with Z and BP shedding two cents a litre off their fuel prices.

It was about the twentieth consecutive fall since October and the seventh this year, which a Z spokesperson said was due to a slide in the barrel price of oil.

Both Z and BP were selling a litre of 91 octane for $1.80, while Z has diesel at $1.12 a litre and BP at $1.13.

The Z spokesperson said 70 sites throughout the country had their prices discounted further because of nearby competition.

A Caltex spokesperson said it would be reviewing its petrol prices later today.
