Police investigations are underway after bodies were found in Christchurch and Tauranga.
Parts of Grove Road, in Christchurch's Addington suburb, are closed after a 37-year-old woman's body was found in her home last night.
Police are conducting a scene examination and have launched a homicide investigation.
A body was also found in Tauranga Harbour this morning.
Emergency services were alerted just before 8am, with the body recovered by Coast Guard shortly after.
Police have asked for help to identify the body, described as a Caucasian man, balding with white hair and of slim build and medium height.
He was wearing a Mount Maunganui golf course polo shirt, underneath a blue woolen vest, light brown shorts, a brown leather belt and leather boat shoes.
He also had a gold square-faced analogue watch on and a St John home alarm pendant.
Police are trying to establish the circumstances of the person's death.
