Tribunals appointed to investigate more PNG MPs

20:18 pm on 25 June 2015

Papua New Guinea's Chief Justice has announced the appointment of leadership tribunals to investigate two more members of Parliament.

Sir Salamo Injia says the tribunals will investigate Kagua-Erave MP, James Lagea, and Bogia MP, John Hickey.

PNG Loop reports the two MPs allegedly failed to lodge financial returns of the Office of Integrity of Political Parties and Candidates as winning candidates in the 2012 elections.

Sir Salamo says Mr Lagea has been notified of the investigation, while Mr Hickey has been unable to be reached as he's in Singapore for medical treatment.
