RNZ journalists have won four categories at the 2019 Voyager Media Awards.
The awards are held annually to "encourage, showcase and acknowledge" the best of New Zealand's media outlets, editorial employees and their work.
For RNZ, Phil Pennington won Reporter of the Year.
Pennington's portfolio of stories included Middlemore Hospital's leaky buildings, the Transport Agency's compliance issues, the contamination caused by chemicals in firefighting foam, and supposedly celibate Catholic priests fathering children.
The judges commended his work, saying Pennington doesn't go chasing headlines, but serves the public good.
RNZ Pacific's Mackenzie Smith won Best Reporter - junior.
Catherine Hutton won the NIB Health Journalism Scholarship - senior.
Visual Journalist Dan Cook won best news video (single videographer).
Finally, the RNZ website was runner-up for best news website or app.
The awards - which have changed names in the past - are in their 47th year. This year's ceremony was held in Auckland on Friday evening.
