New Zealand's Foreign Affairs Minister, Winston Peters, is joining other Pacific leaders for the eighth Japan-Pacific Leaders' Meeting, or PALM, at Iwaki in Japan.
Mr Peters said New Zealand welcomed Japan's engagement in and development assistance to the Pacific.
He said in the context of New Zealand's Pacific Reset, the country was looking forward to building cooperation with Japan on Pacific issues.
