If you struggled to get back into your office-ready kit today, spare a thought for the stars and stylists of Hollywood, who have had to spruce up quick for the 81st Golden Globes taking place in Beverly Hills.
The Globes, which are the first major red carpet event of 2024, are generally thought to be a more relaxed affair than the Oscars. The awards have had a mixed past (in 2021, the whole shindig was cancelled when the lack of diversity on the judging panel was exposed), but that seems to have been brushed under the scarlet carpet.
Utkarsh Ambudkar embraces his inner Ziggy Stardust (and they said the padded silver suit with matching pointy silver shoes look would never catch on!).
Taylor Swift enjoys being Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes.
Hunter Schafer: Someone shut that door, there's a terrible draft in here. W Magazine described Schafer's look as "a glamour cobweb", which is certainly one way of looking at it.
No sartorial shenanigans from Harrison Ford who plays it straight in classic tux. Fun fact: 81-year-old Ford has been nominated five times for a Golden Globe. In 2002, he finally scored the Cecil B. deMille Award for 'outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment'.
Julia Garner'll catch her death if she goes out in that (it's Gucci, darling). Garner is a presenter for this year's awards ceremony.
Oppenheimer star Florence Pugh goes for the classic 'Lady In Red' vibe. Oppenheimer, a cheerful film about the invention of the atomic bomb, had eight nominations.
Actor Chris Perfetti's stylist remains at large.
Only Murders In The Building has five nominations (for stars Selena Gomez, Meryl Streep, Martin Short and Steve Martin, as well as for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy). It'll be a crime if at least one of them doesn't come off!
Dame Helen Mirren is mad for mauve at the 81st Golden Globes. She's nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series - Drama for playing Cara Dutton in Yellowstone prequel, 1923.
Andrew Scott (yes, he's the guy who was The Priest in Fleabag), nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for his role in All Of Us Strangers, laughs off the moment when he discovers that actor Jonathan Bailey (star of Bridgerton, as well as Fellow Travelers, which is nominated for Best Miniseries, Anthology or Motion Picture Made for Television) has stolen his look.
