Two executives from Zions Bank are in American Samoa to finalize the transitioning of all ASG accounts to the Utah-based bank.

The American Samoa Government tapped Zions for help to take over banking services for the government when Bank of Hawaii departs early next year.

In August, the Governor's Office announced that Zions will open the government's depository accounts and will provide it with treasury management and commercial card services.

Treasurer Falema'o Dr Phil Pili told KHJ News that the visit by Zions officials is for the signing of the government accounts over, explaining of procedures and as well as other product services available to the government.
