Third arrest over fatal stabbing in Christchurch's Bexley Reserve

Police have arrested a third person as part of their investigation into the fatal stabbing of a man in Christchurch's Bexley Reserve.

Nigel Wilson, 62, died in hospital a week after being found seriously injured at at the reserve where he had been walking his dog on the morning of 14 November.

A 32-year-old woman had been charged with accessory after the fact to murder and appeared in the Christchurch District Court this morning.

She is accused of tampering with evidence in relation to the investigation into Wilson's death.

Judge Brian Callahan granted her name suppression and remanded her on bail until her next court appearance in February.

Last week Bailey Messervy, 18, appeared in Christchurch District Court on a murder charge, and is remanded in custody.

A 23-year-old woman has also been charged as an accessory after the fact to murder.
