The Electoral Enrolment Centre says it is still flat out processing last minute enrolments to vote in the general election and referendum on New Zealand's voting system.
Slightly more than 220,000 eligible voters had not enrolled by 5pm on Friday but were given until midnight to do so.
The centre says it does not yet know how many took that opportunity but those who did can cast a special declaration vote on Saturday.
Enrolment staff will then process their enrolment and match it against their ballot.
By 5pm on Friday 3,053,705 people were registered, representing 93.2% of those eligible to vote.
The centre says it will be busy until Tuesday processing the late enrolments.
