Papua New Guinea's agriculture minister says he is disappointed his department has been left out of the National Disaster Committee as it deals with severe frost and drought caused by El Niño.
Tommy Tomscoll says he feels the department should be included as the main issue caused by the drought is food supply, which is where the department of agriculture comes in.
Mr Tomscoll told the newspaper, The National, that there's a major disconnect as many farmers have lost crops, and once food is distributed they will need seedlings and other supplies to re-establish their lives.
