Covid-19: What a 'weak positive' infection is like

Health officials are now looking at how to manage the small number of people who return a weak postive test for Covid 19, months after they have recovered from the disease.

An expert panel will now assess such cases to find out whether the infection is an old one or more recent and whether the person should be isolated.

RNZ reporter Tom Kitchin got sick with the virus in March and was cleared in early May - but in the last few days he's tested positive and then negative again.
