Police in Christchurch investigating a fellow police officer for sexual assault and corruption have set up an 0800 number to try to establish if other women encountered him.

Gordon Meyer, 45, has admitted to offering to waive a drink-driving charge for a 23-year-old woman in exchange for a sexual favour in 2011.

He also sexually assaulted a girl, 18, in his patrol car the same year.

Meyer pleaded guilty to corruption, bribery and indecent assault in the Christchurch High Court yesterday.

Meyer was investigated in 2007 over another complaint, but police said there was not enough evidence to proceed.

Assistant Commissioner Grant Nicholls said the investigation is still open and that it was possible there are other cases because (as we'reve reported on The Wireless) sexual offending is generally under-reported.

The freephone number to call with information is 0800 22 33 70.
