NZ womens sevens team going to Rio

The New Zealand women's rugby sevens team have qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The New Zealanders grabbed their spot after reaching the quarter-finals at the London tournament.

However they suffered a suprise 19-15 loss to Spain in pool play, which ended their 37-game winning streak.

They beat Brazil 34-nil and France 24-nil.

New Zealand will play England in the quarter-finals.

The New Zealanders have won every tournament so far this season with the final round in the Netherlands next week.

The New Zealand men's sevens team has also qualified for Rio.
