Top government ministers will sit down today with Māori leaders from nearly every corner of Aotearoa at the National Iwi Chairs Forum.

The forum is the pre-eminent grouping of indigenous leaders, who meet ahead of every Waitangi Day to discuss the key issues affecting Māori.

It's expected the coalition's controversial Treaty Principles Bill will be discussed, with the Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and ACT leader David Seymour attending the hui.
