Christchurch police are investigating two ram-raid-style burglaries in the city this morning.
A spokesperson said officers were called to Colombo Street in Sydenham about 4.30am, after reports a vehicle had been used to try and gain access to a store.
They said the offenders did not gain entry, however they did take items from a second store nearby before fleeing the scene.
Just before 5am, police responded to another ram raid on Radcliffe Road in Belfast.
The spokesperson said thieves gained access to a store and took items.
Police said it was unclear if the events were linked.
There have been a string of ram raids in Christchurch over the past year, including one in the early hours of Friday morning, targeting the Hub mall in Hornby.
