A bench warrant has been issued for a former Fiji political party official charged with making a false statement.
FBC Radio reported that when Jale Baba's case was called in the Suva court today, neither he nor his lawyer was present.
The matter has been adjourned to the 24 May.
Jale Baba is alleged to have published false voter lists and other information relating to the list on social media between August and October last year.
He was released on bail in October last year.
Baba was a campaign director for the SDL Party (Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua), which was founded in 2001 by then prime minister Laisenia Qarase.
Baba quit the position in June 2006 - six months before the military coup led by Frank Bainimarama.
