Citing uneven salary increases between instructors and administrative employees, several teachers in the Northern Marianas Public School System have called for a review of the proposed across-the-board salary hike for the system.
Republican legislator Angel Demapan recently requested the chair of the CNMI's State Board of Education, Marylou Ada, for a copy of the salary increase plan.
He said the House of Representatives had received calls from constituents, some of them teachers, who asked questions about salary increases given to administrative staff.
Mr Demapan said the issue was whether administrators had been allotted more significant percentage pay increases than teachers.
