A Queenstown jet boat company has suspended its operations after five people were hospitalised on Monday afternoon when a jetboat carrying 14 people hit a rock.
Shotover Jet Ltd says the incident happened on the Shotover River at 3pm. Five people - two tourists and three local agents - have minor to moderate neck and back injuries.
Spokesperson David Kennedy says all operations have ceased until further notice.
He says the company will be investigating the incident, as will the regulating authority, Maritime New Zealand.
