The leader of the One Cook Islands Democratic party coalition is confident it will win the Aitutaki by-election, which could result in a change of government.
Teina Bishop says he is certain his side will win the Vaipae-Tautu by-election on February 17th, a victory which could make him the new Prime Minister.
The need for another by-election in the Aitutaki seat follows a Court of Appeal judgement which declared the election victory of Moana Ioane from the Cook Islands party void after it was found he had bribed one of the voters.
Mr Bishop is heading the campaign for candidate Kete Ioane.
Mr Bishop is currently the subject of an enquiry into allegations of bribery and corruption.
