Gareth Thomas, Welsh rugby's most capped player, and one of the sport's most high profile gay men, is set to switch codes and end his illustrious career playing league.

The Wales-based Super League franchise Crusaders have scheduled a press conference for tonight when they're expected to announc that 35 year old Thomas will join them when his current contract with Cardiff expires in May.

The move would make Thomas the most famous union player to switch to league since rugby went professional in 1995.
