Golfing first in Florida for Kiwi player

New Zealand golfer Amelia Garvey has written herself into the record books competing in Florida.

Garvey has achieved what no other professional golfer, has managed before - scoring an an eagle, albatross, and hole in one in a single round.

The Canterbury golfer achieved the feat at the Royal St Cloud Women's Championship on the NXXT Women's Pro Tour in Florida.

She ultimately shot 66 to card six-under and finish in joint seventh place.

The NXXT tour is a development tour there to help professional and amateur golfers get their game the next level.

The tour website rates the odds at 37.5 million to 1 for amateurs and an astronomical 4.5 trillion to 1 for professionals.

"Today's achievement is beyond my wildest dreams. I hope to make it into the history books for other things, but I definitely won't forget this day," said Garvey.

Alongside her individual success, Garvey played a pivotal role in leading her team Pirates GC to victory in the team competition.
