One dead, one critical, one missing: Hamilton police launch homicide probe

A homicide investigation is underway in Hamilton after a man was found dead.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Neilson said police were called to Beatty Street, Melville at around 4.30am Saturday.

He said a 26-year-old man was found dead at the scene.

A second man was taken to Waikato Hospital, where he remained in a critical condition.

Police are making inquiries, and trying to identify and locate a third man who was at the scene.

They are also seeking a vehicle seen in the area.

The black Ford Territory, registration DBN472, was last seen being driven by a man, who police are also looking to speak to in connection with enquiries.
