A new chairperson has been appointed for Regenerate Christchurch, the body tasked with overseeing the rebuild.
The Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee and Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel have appointed Andre Lovatt, currently the chief executive of the Arts Centre.
Regenerate Christchurch will be jointly owned and funded by the Crown and the Christchurch City Council.
It will replace the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act which expires in April next year.
Mr Lovatt describes the appointment as a huge challenge but one he is excited to begin.
