A new Retirement Commissioner has been appointed following the exit of Diane Maxwell, who faced claims of bullying and mismanagement.
NZ on Air chief executive Jane Wrightson will begin a three-year-term in February.
An investigation into the allegations against Ms Maxwell found no bullying, but described her communication style as abrasive.
Her contract was not renewed at the end of June.
The interim Retirement Commissioner, Peter Cordtz, will continue in the role until Ms Wrightson takes over.
