The South African cricketers were celebrating one of test crickets great wins in Perth last night having, achieved the second highest run chase in history to beat Australia in the opening match of their 3-test series.

Set 414 to win the Proteas lost only four wickets with man of the match AB de Villiers unbeaten on 106 and JP Duminy scored the winning three runs to post his maiden test half century.

De Villiers says he was confident the target was achievable.

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson took three wickets for Australia finishing with 11 for the game.

But the Australian captain Ricky Ponting said there were a lot of passengers in his side and the selectors will have to think seriously about their bowling attack for the second test in Melbourne starting on Boxing Day.
