A homicide investigation is under way in Taranaki after a man's body was located outside an Oaonui property today.
Emergency services were alerted at 8.40am after a person arrived at the rural Kina Road property and found the man.
"While we are treating this death as suspicious, we are in the very early stages of understanding what has happened to our victim," Detective Inspector Brent Matuku said in a statement.
The identity of the man has not yet been released.
A forensic scene examination of the property is under way and a post mortem is expected to be carried out early this week.
