Australia has beaten the Kiwis 32-12 in the Anzac rugby league test in Canberra.
The score was level at 6-6 at half-time, but Australia scored four quick tries just after the break to crush the spirited New Zealand resistance.
The result means New Zealand has not beaten Australia in the annual clash for 14 years.
Three times the Kiwis claimed tries in the first half only be denied by the video referee - unluckily on at least one occasion according to coach Stephen Kearney.
While disappointed with the result, Kearney took heart from a performance made more meritorious by the fact skipper Simon Mannering was a late withdrawal and they went into the game without a host of stars including Benji Marshall, Sonny Bill Williams, Jeremy Smith and Krisnan Inu.
Kearney says ill discipline cost the Kiwis during that pivotal stretch.
