A case of the measles has been confirmed at an early childhood centre in Levin.
The report of a child contracting the virus at Lollipops Educare brings the total number of cases in the lower North Island's MidCentral district up to 10.
Following an outbreak of measles in Waikato in April, the virus has spread to Nelson, Northland and Horowhenua.
The MidCentral Public Health Service said it was working with Lollipops staff, and was following up with people who had been to the early childhood centre to stop further spread.
The Ministry of Health is advising everyone to check they are vaccinated against measles.
