The Vanuatu Civil Aviation Authority is currently conducting an investigation into the conduct of the Minister of Climate Change, Bruno Leingkon.

Last week the pilot of a private aircraft was forced to land at Pekoa International Airport in Santo just a few minutes after taking off.

It is alleged that Mr Leingkon was drunk when he boarded the aircraft and started to harass the female pilot, minutes into the flight.

Mr Leingkon had travelled to Santo with the Prime Minister Bob Loughman to inspect damage caused by last month's Cyclone Harold.

He missed his return flight with Mr Loughman so the second plane, which had to turn around, was chartered for him.
