All Whites captain Winston Reid is set to leave West Ham United and join English Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, The Daily Mirror reports.
The 26-year-old New Zealander will make the move when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season, and the new deal will see him net £60,000-a-week (NZ$120,000).
According to the Mirror, the signing “will enrage West Ham fans as they will see it as a betrayal to join Spurs after Reid has snubbed various offers of a new contract to stay at Upton Park.”
Both Arsenal and Liverpool were interested in signing Reid last month during the transfer window, however those talks fell through once West Ham slapped a £7 million price tag on Reid, putting both teams off.
Reid, who has played more than 120 games for West Ham, isn’t able to formally sign a pre-contract with Tottenham but it’s been reported that it’s a done deal, according to sources close to the situation.
Tottenham currently sit at sixth place on the English Premier League table compared to West Ham who are four points down in eighth place.
