Police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old man following the robbery of a number of vehicles and injuries to four people north of Wellington.
The first robbery occurred in Porirua around 7.30am today when a victim was attacked and had his vehicle stolen.
Two more people were injuried when their vehicles were taken further north on State Highway 1 - one in Poplar Avenue and another in the Raumati Beach shopping area.
Police pursued the man due to a failure to stop and the man was arrested near Peka Peka at around 9.30am.
A fourth person was injured in a minor crash in Peka Peka involving the fleeing driver, prior to the third vehicle coming to a stop.
The arrested man will appear in the Porirua District Court tomorrow.
Police said there were delays on the Kāpiti Expressway as a result of the incident.
